El domingo 26 de enero los peruanos acudiremos nuevamente a las urnas para elegir a nuestros representantes al parlamento en estas elecciones congresales extraordinarias.
El ciudadano que no acuda a votar, se le impondrá una multa por no cumplir con su deber cívico. En distrito no pobres, la multa será de 86 soles; en distritos pobres, de 43 soles y en distritos pobres extremos, 21.50 soles.
Sin embargo, la cifra no es la misma si el elector es elegido miembro de mesa titular o suplente. Deberá pagar dos multas electorales: Una por omisión de voto de acuerdo a tu distrito de procedencia y la otra por ausencia a tu labor como miembro de mesa. En este caso, sería 215 soles por no cumplir con este deber.
Para saber si se tiene multa pendiente, debes ingresar a la página web del Jurado Nacional de Elecciones (JNE) y dirigirte a la sección de multas electorales. En caso que decidas pagar, acércate a pagar a las agencias del Banco de la Nación o las cajas de las sedes del JNE en Cercado de Lima.
Por otro lado, si decides conservar tu multa electoral, no podrás: Inscribir cualquier acto relacionado con tu estado civil, intervenir en procesos judiciales o administrativos, firmar contrato, ser nombrado funcionario público, obtener brevete y salir del país.
Recuerda que el voto es obligatorio desde los 18 hasta los 70 años. Sin embargo, el ciudadano que exceda esa edad, aún puede acercarse a votar.
