Al mismo tiempo, la política aseveró que la fuerza pública no utilizará armas letales contra la población, “ni siquiera de perdigones de goma”. Durante la misma jornada, en la ciudad de Cusco tampoco cesaron las protestas y se reporta que los manifestantes tomaron el control de una planta de bombeo de gas. Las calles principales de la ciudad se han convertido en puntos de concentración de las marchas, que han sido acompañadas por un paro total que ha afectado a los negocios.
También en Cusco, la sede de uno de los principales medios de comunicación locales ha sido vandalizada. Los manifestantes dañaron la fachada del edificio, rompieron algunas ventanas e incluso lograron acceder al interior de las instalaciones. Mientras que en Ayacucho huamanga se produjo una masacre a mansalva dejando el saldo de 5 muertos y un centenar de heridos graves, el ejercito y la PNP actuó con todo el peso letal disparando al cuerpo.
