Southern Perú ofreció un valioso apoyo, en favor de los adultos mayores del albergue san pedro de Tacna, varios de ellos con discapacidad o de muy avanzada edad, con el fin de contribuir a su mejor calidad de vida y buena nutrición, Esto en el marco de la emergencia sanitaria nacional, decretada por el gobierno central, la empresa minera hizo entrega de paquetes de víveres, con artículos de primera necesidad, con productos como leche, avena, atún, menestras, fideos, arroz, azúcar, aceite, entre otros.
además, se complementó con kits de higiene y aseo, conteniendo jabón líquido y de tocador, mascarillas faciales protectoras, gel desinfectante, alcohol, pañales, toallitas húmedas, papel higiénico, crema dental, detergente, algodón, etc., indispensables para el cuidado óptimo de las personas de la tercera edad. Los funcionarios de desarrollo comunitario de Southern Perú, hicieron entrega de manera simbólica a representantes de la sociedad de beneficencia publica de Tacna, con el fin de evitar cualquier contacto con los beneficiarios del asilo, que pueda poner en peligro su salud.
cabe destacar que, recientemente, la compañía también ha realizado aportes similares para la población vulnerable adultos mayores de escasos recursos, en la provincia de Candarave, lo cual se replicara también en comunidades vecinas a la unidad operativa de Toquepala en la provincia de Jorge Basadre. de esta menara la empresa demuestra su firme apoyo con su compromiso de colaboración y ayuda en estos momentos apremiantes de necesidad. en esta difícil etapa donde nuestro país afronta la pandemia del nuevo corona virus.
